Case Resolution

The TAS (Taxpayer Advocate Service) Case Resolution Program offers personalized assistance, available in-person by appointment only, to help you with your toughest case involving an IRS tax matter. IRS and TAS representatives with specialized expertise will be on site for a one-on-one conversation, conduct thorough research on your case and endeavor to promptly resolve your tax matter. If we cannot resolve the case onsite or we need to perform further research, we will establish a case in the TAS and request further assistance from the appropriate IRS unit.

Each authorized tax practitioner registered for the Tax Forum is limited to one case per registered event. We will not be able to assist you with your own personal tax matter or any case where you have a vested interest in a corporation, partnership, estate and/or trust. A signed original or copy of a Form 2848, Power of Attorney (POA), or a Form 8821, Tax Information Authorization will be required and must be presented when scheduling and appearing for an appointment. A new addition to the 2024 IRS Tax Forum will be the ability to book your appointment online with TAS Case Resolution in advance. Appointment sign-up for each location will open two weeks before each Tax Forum on a first-come, first-served basis and is only open to attendees with a paid/complete registration for that Forum location. For complete details, visit the TAS Case Resolution Information Page
